After our girls luncheon at L’Avenue, we race over to the  Rick Owens runway show and happily the street style show is in full force!

Firstly, I have to remind you, it’s cold outside (winter in Paris)… Wow, these intricate hose are quite a statement.

What are the pantyhose “saying”? Ummm, well,  they are “speaking volumes”…

The hose are saying “I’m staying”! Upon a closer investigation, the “pantyhose” are not hose at all, much more of a commitment for our little girl reporter- yes, it’s ink… “perma-hose”.

We overheard the famed New Zealand Style arbiter Tim Blanks of Style.com make a funny yet snarky comment about her unique version of street style…

Hard at work, checking out shots – I love the utilitarian chic vibe happening here, who is he I wonder…?

All dressed in Rick Owens, she looks familiar…

Denise (love the shades) , Dawn and Milia …

The day had been already been lovely but it was about to get better with a surprise moment with the AMAZING Bill Cunningham.

This is an experience that I will remember forever!

I had seen this adorable little older gentleman, very unassuming shooting photos of the crowd waiting outside the show.

I had taken a work call and had stepped away from Nancy for a second and noticed that the slight man in the blue coat had taken a few shots of me, (my lower half, I thought maybe pics of my handbag, it get’s attention sometimes).

Then, with the charm and twinkle of Santa, he winked at me as I looked at him… Who is the little cherub dressed like a smurf taking photos?

I took a quick photo of him as he walked away,  he was still taking shots of the gathering, not missing a beat… After I finish my business call, I joined Nancy and noticed he is now taking shots of both of us, our legs and shoes…

I mention him to Nancy, she say’s “I think that’s Bill Cunningham of the New York Times Style section!” She is very clever and knows things…

Yes, yes, yes… Like a slow motion “Jeopardy moment” it IS Bill Cunningham, amazing, I had heard of him, but had never seen him before and I needed to get up to speed fast.

We become OBSESSED with watching Bill taking photos rapid-fire, always moving and shooting at the same time – also we notice the collective reverence everyone shows him. The massive bank of photographers at the show yell his name “Bill, Bill, Bill” and call him over, he is a star!

All of the press and photographers know how important Bill Cunningham is. He the  father of street style, check out his “On the Street” column as well as “Evening Hours” columns that cover fashion and society in NYC.

ACGW  also watch the amazing documentary called Bill Cunningham New York, you will fall in love with him and also understand the famous quote by Anna Wintour “We all get dressed for Bill.”

My camera skills need a little work, Bill can I have some lessons?

I am not the only person who wants photo lessons from Bill, the photographers are going crazy for him! It is truly a sweet moment to see such open admiration and gratitude for an innovative style pioneer like Bill.

It is time for the real show, we all take our seats and the camera’s are trained on the runway, ready for the models.

Great view!

The back wall lights up with fuego…

The music thumping, to appreciate the clothes one needs to deconstruct the looks…

My gorgeous friend Barbara sitting next to the very unique James Goldstein (taking photo)…

What a day!

Off to dinner and cocktails, we will tell and re-tell the days events to each other over and over again, we are an easy audience.
